Insufficient Cooling / Refrigerant Compressor Start-Up Malfunctioning
If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles of Insufficient / no cooling with the air conditioning on, the refrigerant compressor may be contacting the upper section of the oil pan. This will result in no refrigerant being delivered. To resolve this issue, install shims at all three mounting points of the refrigerant compressor as outlined below:
1. Remove front and center engine compartment paneling. Refer to WIS document AR61.20-P-1105SX.
2. Remove poly V-belt. Refer to WIS document AR13.22-P-1202SX.
3. Remove three mounting bolts from the refrigerant compressor.
4. Install shims at mounting points. Install the mounting bolts and torque to 20 Nm.
Note:
Maximum total thickness of shim 2 mm. Do not install more than one shim at each mount point.
5. Install poly V-belt and verify the refrigerant compressor no longer contacts the upper section of the oil pan.
6. Reinstall front and center engine compartment paneling.
