Wind Noise from the Front Door
If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles of wind noise in the interior, this may be caused by insufficient sealing at the outside rear view mirrors. Perform the procedure outlined below to resolve.
Up to VIN A138372
1. Remove the outside mirror per the steps a through d.
a. Remove the door lining reference WIS document AR72.10-P-1000SX.
b. Carefully peel back foam tape around mirror harness to expose torx # 20 screws, remove three screws (Figure 1).
c. Hold mirror and unplug electrical connector from door control module.
d. Remove mirror.
2. Remove the mirror foam seal from the mirror triangle (Figure 2)
3. Cut foam strip to a length of 28 cm and stick the foam strip to the mirror base as shown in (Figure 3). Maintain a distance of 3 mm from the edge otherwise the foam will be visible after the mirror is installed on the vehicle.
4. Install new mirror foam seal (Figure 2), reinstall the outside mirror and door lining.
Up to VIN A236284
1. Remove outside mirror trim reference WIS AR88.70-P-9040TX.
2. Install the two molded foam elements in outside mirror as described (Figure 4 and 5).
3. Install outside mirror trim AR88.70-P-9040TX.
4. Install outside mirror onto door.
Up to VIN A249754
1. Install new window guide rail and then reattach door panel.
2. Perform function test on power window down/up.
