Hood Bent Forward of Left Hinge

In the above model vehicle, use extreme care when lowering the hood from the service position to avoid bending the aluminum hood just forward of the left hinge mount. If the left stop pin is not fully released before closing the hood, this can result in either the hood bending just forward of the left hood hinge or the adjusting bolts between the hood hinge and the hood may slip even though the bolts are correctly tightened. Additionally, exercise caution when working on the car outdoors if the hood is in the service position. If either the hood is moved (by hand or a gust of wind) and suddenly hits the stop pin, similar damage may occur.
