Engine Controls - No Start/CAN Fault Codes Stored

Vehicle Cannot Be Started, CAN Fault Codes Current and Stored





If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles of the vehicle not starting and there are current and/or stored fault codes for CAN communication (Refer to the table shown), the Left Front SAM with Fuse and Relay Block (N10/1) may have loose connectors. CAN communication may be faulty due to an incorrectly latched PIN in connector I1 or C2 on N10/1.

1. Access N10/1 by following WIS document AR54.21-P-1260SX





2. Locate harness connector I1 (Figure 1) and check PIN 2 and PIN 11 contacts for proper installation and verify that it is seated firmly into the control unit. If necessary, reseat the contacts correctly in the connector housing.

3. Locate harness connector C2 (Figure 1) and verify that it is seated firmly into the control unit.

The following allowable labor operations should be used when submitting a warranty claim for this repair.
