Interior - Front/Rear Door Panels Loose/Protruding

Door Panel Loose or Slightly Protrudes





If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles of a front or rear door panel being loose or slightly protrudes in the area of the speaker, this may be due to increased tension on the expansion clips. To resolve, retrofit new style expansion clips (Figure 1) using instructions below.

Front door:

1. Remove front door panel using WIS document AR72.10-P-1000SX.





2. Insert new style grommet (Figure 1, A009 997 89 81) into expansion clip hole adjacent to the speaker (Figure 2, circle).

3. Reinstall front door panel using WIS document AR72.10-P-1000SX but replace the old style retention clip (Figure 1, A000 994 59 48) with the new style seal (Figure 1, A000 997 20 42) and clip (Figure 1, A000 991 34 95) on the expansion clip hole recently fitted with the new style grommet (Figure 2, circle).

Rear door:

1. Remove front door panel using WIS document AR72.12-P-1010SX.





2. Insert two new style grommet (Figure 1, A009 997 89 81) into expansion clip holes adjacent to the speaker (Figure 3, arrows)

3. Reinstall front door panel using WIS document AR72.12-P-1010SX but replace the old style retention clips (Figure 1, A000 994 59 48) with the two new style seals (Figure 1, A000 997 20 42) and clips (Figure 1, A000 991 34 95) on the expansion clip holes recently fitted with the new style grommets (Figure 3, arrows).
