Campaign - Tire Pressure Label Inspection/Replacement

CHECK TIRE INFLATION PRESSURE LABEL AND REPLACE IF NECESSARY
This Service Campaign has been initiated because DCAG has determined that on the affected vehicles the fuel door tire pressure inflation label may be incorrect. Dealers will check for the correct label and replace as necessary in all affected vehicles at the vehicle's next workshop visit. Additionally, dealers will correct tire pressure if necessary and reactivate the tire pressure monitor.
Prior to performing this Service Campaign:
^ Please check VMI to determine if the vehicle is involved in the Campaign and if it has been previously repaired.
^ Please review the entire Service Campaign bulletin and follow the procedure steps exactly as described.
^ Please note that Recall and Service Campaigns do not expire and may also be performed on a vehicle with a vehicle status indicator.
Approximately 1,583 vehicles are affected.
Procedure
1. Check part number (A221 584 6517) on tire pressure label (arrow, Figure 1) affixed to inside of fuel filler flap:
6 If part number is: A 221 584 6517 no further work is necessary, the procedure is completed.
^ If part number is not: A 221 584 6517 continue with procedure.
2. Remove old label from fuel filler flap.
Note:
^ Use lukewarm water to ease removal.
^ Dry the contact surface after removing the label
^ Clean contact surface with alcohol in order to remove old adhesive prior to installing the new label.
3. Affix new tire pressure label (Figure 2) to same location on the fuel filler door.
4. Check tire pressure and correct if necessary to the correct specifications.
5. After the tire pressure is corrected, activate tire pressure monitor and perform road test to ensure proper operation (refer to Operator's Manual).
