In order to limit the version coded maximum speed, the throttle valve is slightly closed once a speed of 250 km/h is reached. This reduces the engine load and the injection quantity is reduced accordingly. The engine control unit receives for this function the CAN message "front wheel speed" from the ESP, SPS [PML] and BAS control unit.

In case of AMG vehicles, the highest speed of 300 km/h is available at the customer's request.
