The trip computer in the instrument cluster (A1) is informed via the chassis CAN (CAN E) by the ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10) about the current fuel consumption by means of rectangular impulse packages.
The consumption signal is calculated from this by the instrument cluster (e.g 8 l/h) and displayed as required.
