GF54.65-P-2000CW Self-Test, Function
GF54.65-P-2000CW Self-test, Function
- with CODE (220) Parktronic system (PTS)
- up to model year 08
Function requirements:
^ Circuit 15 On
Self-test function sequence
The PARKTRONIC control unit (N62) performs a self-test after the ignition (circuit 15 On) is switched on.
The following are checked:
^ PARKTRONIC control unit
^ Rear PARKTRONIC warning indicator (A44/3)
^ Instrument panel PARKTRONIC warning indicator (A44/4)
^ PARKTRONIC front distance sensors (B8/1, B8/2, B8/3, B8/4, B8/5 and B8/6)
^ PARKTRONIC rear distance sensors (B8/7, B8/8, B8/9 and B8/10)
^ All PARKTRONIC electrical lines
After the self-test all the light emitting diodes (LED) of the warning indicators are actuated fully for t = approx 1 s. If there are no malfunctions or faults present, the two yellow horizontal "standby bars" of the warning indicator are shown at reduced brightness.
The background illumination of the warning indicators is automatically adjusted to suit the ambient brightness. The PARKTRONIC control unit performs further self-tests at regular intervals.
In the event of a fault or a malfunction PARKTRONIC is deactivated and the LED in the PARKTRONIC button (N72/1s8) in the upper control panel control unit (N72/1) lights up.
The following faults can be recorded:
^ Operational problem
^ Fault case 1
^ Fault case 2
Malfunction:
If a malfunction occurs during operation, it is indicated by the lighting of the red LEDs in each affected warning indicator. A warning sound is not emitted
A malfunction may be caused by a defect in one of the PARKTRONIC components or by short-term interference from outside (e.g. from a pneumatic drill on a construction site, a steam jet cleaner or an induction loop at traffic signals PARKTRONIC is immediately active again after the fault has been rectified.
Fault case 1:
If a system fault is caused by a component (e.g. distance sensor, warning indicator or PARKTRONIC control unit the red LEDs of the respective warning indicator affected are actuated. The warning indicator also issues a warning tone for t = 2 s. Following a further t = 20 s the PARKTRONIC shuts down and an error is written to the fault memory in the PARKTRONIC control unit.
Fault case 2:
If a fault is detected during a function test while driving, then the next time speed drops below v = 16 km/h the red LEDs of each affected warning indicator are actuated. A warning tone is also emitted for t = 2 s. Following a further t = 20 s the PARKTRONIC shuts down and an error is written to the fault memory in the PARKTRONIC control unit.
