Component Identification:

Location
The pollutant sensor is located in the engine compartment beneath the wiper linkage to the left of the radiator tank.

Task
The pollutant sensor records the pollutant concentration:
^ Carbon monoxide (CO)
^ Nitrogen oxide (NOX)

The values are read in by the automatic air conditioning control and operating unit (N22/7) via the climate control LIN. The control and operating unit automatically regulates the level of recirculated air in accordance with the values that have been read in.
