The starter lockout contact is operated in gear selector switch positions "P" and N. As a result the permanent magnet is moved away by the dry-reed contact. The dry-reed contact is opened. The electronic transmission control control unit (N15/3) receives an electrical signal. The circuit to the starter is closed in gear selector switch positions "P" and N.
