GF82.10-P-2017CW Lamp Unit, Component Description

General
3 variants of the left front lamp unit (E1) and right front lamp unit (E2) are installed depending on the following equipment:
^ Vehicles without code (614) Bi-xenon headlamp unit and without code (622) Intelligent Light System (right-hand traffic)
^ Vehicles with code (614) Bi-xenon headlamp unit
^ Vehicles with code (622) Intelligent Light System (right-hand traffic)

Vehicles without code (614) Bi-xenon headlamp unit and without code (622) Intelligent Light System (right-hand traffic):

Body
^ Left front lamp unit
- Left high beam (E1e1)
- Left low beam (E1e2)
- Left front standing and parking lights (E1e3)
- Left front turn signal light (E1e5)
- Left front standing light 2 (E1e12)

^ Right front lamp unit
- Right high beam (E2e1)
- Right low beam (E2e2)
- Right front standing and parking lights (E2e3)
- Right front turn signal light (E2e5)
- Right front standing light 2 (E2e12)

Function
The individual components are actuated directly by the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1).

Vehicles with code (614) Bi-xenon headlamp unit:
In this version, the low beam is omitted in the H7 version; instead, additional xenon components are installed.

Design
^ Left front lamp unit
- Left high beam
- Left front standing and parking lights
- Left front turn signal light
- Left xenon bulb with integrated ignition module (E1e10)
- Left front standing light 2
- Left high beam solenoid (E1l1)
- Left headlamp range adjustment actuator motor (E1m1)
- Left xenon light control unit (E1n1)

^ Right front lamp unit
- Right high beam
- Right front standing and parking lights
- Right front turn signal light
- Right xenon bulb with integrated ignition module (E2e10)
- Right front standing light 2
- Right high beam solenoid (E2l1)
- Right headlamp range adjustment actuator motor (E2m1)
- Right xenon light control unit (E2n1)

Function
The xenon components are controlled by the corresponding xenon light control unit.

When the low beam is switched on, part of the particular xenon bulb concealed via a shield.
When the high beam is switched on, the shield is folded down by the associated high beam solenoid, whereby the partly concealed light cone is unblocked. The automatic headlamp range adjustment is implemented via the headlamp range adjustment actuator motors.
The remaining components are directly actuated by the front SAM control unit

Vehicles with code (622) Intelligent Light System (right-hand traffic).

Body
^ Left front lamp unit
- Left high beam
- Left front standing and parking lights
- Left front turn signal light
- Left xenon bulb with integrated ignition module
- Left front standing light 2
- Left high beam solenoid
- Left headlamp range adjustment actuator motor
- Left active curve illumination actuator motor (E1m2)
- Left xenon light control unit

^ Right front lamp unit
- Right high beam
- Right front standing and parking lights
- Right front turn signal light
- Right xenon bulb with integrated ignition module
- Right front standing light 2
- Right high beam solenoid
- Right headlamp range adjustment actuator motor
- Right active curve illumination actuator motor (E2m2)
- Right xenon light control unit

Function
The components are actuated in the same way as on vehicles with code (614) Bi-xenon headlamp unit.
However, the active curve illumination actuator motors are additionally installed. They permit the following functions:

Active curve illumination
When steering into a curve, the headlamp unit on the inside of the curve swings in by up to 15°, the one on the outside of the curve by up to 7.5°. This is implemented via the active curve illumination actuator motors.

Motorway lights
Depending on the speed, the output of the xenon bulbs is increased in a linear way by the corresponding xenon light control unit.
Starting at a vehicle speed of v > 100 km/h, the left headlamp unit is raised by the left headlamp range adjustment actuator motor.

Wide-beam fog light
When the rear fog lamp activated and the vehicle is driving at a speed of v < 70 km/h, the left xenon light control unit actuates the left headlamp range adjustment actuator motor and the left active curve illumination actuator motor. The headlamp unit is swiveled to the outside and lowered.
