Task
The clutch control solenoid valve K3 is actuated by the fully integrated transmission control control unit and influences the position of the regulating valve K3. The pressure in the multidisk clutch K3 depends on the position of the regulating valve and therefore on the geometry of the regulating valve K3 The clutch control solenoid valve K3 has a falling characteristic.

This means that the oil pressure applied in the regulating valve K3 reduces as the actuation current increases. In limp-home mode of the fully integrated transmission control (VGS) all the control solenoid valves are de-energized. The clutch control solenoid valve K3 thus supplies maximum pressure.

Body
In the clutch control solenoid valve K3, a proportional solenoid converts the electrical signals from the fully integrated transmission control control unit. The float needle can also be moved into intermediate positions as a result.
