If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles that the message "Parking Brake - See Owner's Manual" is displayed in the instrument cluster and the following fault codes are present in the corresponding control units, check for a connection fault on the front end CAN bus caused by lamp unit E1 or E2 by following the below steps.

1. Check the plugs of the lamp units E1/2 or E2/2 for correct engagement and fully engage if necessary.

2. Check the contact pins of the lamp units and the associated plug contacts on the vehicle wiring harness for moisture ingress, corrosion, widened contacts, etc. and repair as necessary.
