GF82.30-P-0003SX Wiper System (WSA), Function
GF82.30-P-0003SX Wiper System (WSA), Function
Wiper system (WSA), general
Operation is accomplished via the combination switch (S4). The selected wiper level is read in by the steering column module (N80) and placed on the chassis CAN. The central gateway control unit (N93) routes this signal to the interior CAN where it is read in by the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1). The front SAM control unit acts as a master control unit to control the entire WSA.
The antilock device, the lockup detection, the braking and stopping of the wiper arms in the final position are performed independently by the wiper motors and the front SAM control unit. If the wiper arm is not in the basic position when the request is switched off, then the wipe cycle is always completed until the basic position is reached.
The system is made up of the following subfunctions:
^ Windshield wiper, function
^ Wiper start suppression function
^ Wiper system automatic speed reduction, function
^ Heating wiper support, function
^ Washer nozzles/washer nozzle hose heater, function
^ Windshield washer, function
Vehicles with code (600) Headlamp cleaning system: When low beams are switched on and a certain number of windshield washer system operations have occurred, the headlamp cleaning system (HCS [SRA]) is activated automatically.
