Complaint:
Two motor wiper system!
Faulty operation after installation of a new wiper motor.
Cause:
Due to a new processor generation, a new wiper motor generation has been introduced in series production.
The "new" version of wiper motors cannot communicate with the "old" version of motors.
Remedy:
Introduction of new wiper motor in series production:
LHD vehicle / "old" driver-side wiper motor RP no. A 221 820 19 42 > replaced by "new" A 221 820 43 42
LHD vehicle / "old" passenger-side wiper motor RP no. A 221 820 41 42 > replaced by "new" A 221 820 44 42
Note:
If the old part numbers are no longer available in the event of wiper motor replacement, the second wiper motor must also be replaced by a motor with the new replacement part number.
If two new wiper motors are installed in the vehicle, these may only be replaced individually as necessary!
Refer to EPC documentation for the exact production breakpoints for the chassis numbers and the current replacement part numbers.
