Start enable of DAS not sent
Possible cause:
- Test start enable from DAS.
Affected functions:
- Engine start
- CAN Communication
-------------------------------------------------
Test 1: Notes on drive authorization system (DAS)
Test 2: Test start enable from DAS.
1. Notes on drive authorization system (DAS)
The drive authorization system is activated by control module EZS through the CAN databus to control module ME 2.7.2. If the drive authorization enable was not issued, the control module ME 2.7.2 deactivates the fuel injection system.Control modules EZS and ME 2.7.2 are permanently interlocked by means of an identification code. This identification code cannot be erased. For this reason, control module EZS or ME 2.7.2 cannot be replaced as a check with a control module from another vehicle.Warning! If a new control module is installed temporarily for test purposes, not more than 40 start operations must be performed otherwise the control modules will be finally interlocked.
2. Test start enable from DAS.
Test prerequisite
- The vehicle is unlocked.
- Switch on ignition.
Status of relevant actual value:
- Drive authorization Start enable:Warning!
The actual value is supplied through CAN bus from component N73 (EIS [EZS] control unit).Specified value
- Start enable:YES
Question
- Is the actual value o.k.?
YES
The actual value is okay.End of test
NO
The actual value is not o.k.Possible cause and remedy
- An attempt was made to start the engine when vehicle was locked.
- Fault in CAN communication with control unit EZS.
- Read fault memory from control unit EZS and rectify faults.
- Components N3/10 (ME-SFI [ME] control unit) and N73 (EIS [EZS] control unit) do not match.Check the correctness of the MB part number.
