L5 (Crankshaft position sensor) (P0335)

Possible cause:

- L5 (Crankshaft position sensor)
Affected functions:

- Engine diagnosis
- Engine start
- Engine running

-------------------------------------------------

Test 1: Check component L5 (Crankshaft position sensor).

1. Check component L5 (Crankshaft position sensor).

Test 1.1: Test signal voltage of component L5 (Crankshaft position sensor).

Test 1.2: Check internal resistance of component L5 (Crankshaft position sensor).

1.1. Test signal voltage of component L5 (Crankshaft position sensor).
Test sequence

- Switch off ignition.
- Connect socket box (126-pin) to component N3/10 (ME-SFI [ME] control unit).
- Observe oscilloscope pattern between sockets (3.13) 46(A4) and (3.26) 59(A7) of the 126-pole socket box tester.
- Engine at idle
- Start measuring system.
Specified value

- Compare the oscillogram with the characteristics specified for component L5 (Crankshaft position sensor).[1 ... 40] V Sinusoidal signal(Amplitude)
Note

- Measuring system:Communication with ECU required

1.2. Check internal resistance of component L5 (Crankshaft position sensor).
Test sequence

- Switch off ignition.
- Connect socket box (126-pin) to component N3/10 (ME-SFI [ME] control unit).
- Separate connector 3 from control unit N3/10 (ME-SFI [ME] control unit).
- Measure resistance with multimeter between sockets (3.13) 46 and (3.26) 59 of the 126-pole socket box tester.
Specified value

- Resistor: [600...1300]ohms
Question

- Is the measurement value OK?

YES
The measurement value is OK.End of test

NO
The measurement value is not OK.Possible cause and remedy

- Lines to component L5 (Crankshaft position sensor)
- L5 (Crankshaft position sensor)
End of test
