- with CODE (Z07) Top protection
- up to model year 08

Component Identification:

Location
The compressed air bottle is located in the trunk on the equipment carrier plate for special-purpose vehicles.

Task
The compressed air bottle supplies sufficient air for respiration when the fresh air emergency system is actuated. The pressure is the compressed air bottle when filled is approx. 300 bars.
When the fresh air emergency system is activated, the solenoid valve is opened by the fresh air system emergency control unit (N142) and the compressed air flows into the right rear footwell through a nozzle with muffler.
The compressed air bottle empties completely within approx. 3 minutes following actuation. The passenger compartment is pressurized.

The procedure cannot be interrupted.

Pressure monitoring
The pressure in the compressed air bottle is monitored via the pressure sensor by the fresh air system emergency control unit. If the value drops to below 250 bars, the fresh air system emergency warning buzzer (H13/1) sounds for 10 s when circuit 15R is switched on. Parallel to this, the LED in the fresh air system emergency activate button (S62/40) is actuated permanently.
