GF82.70-P-2007RB Switch Telephone On/Off Characteristics, Function
- with CODE (386) Preinstallation for telephone "Handy", UPCI system
- with CODE (388) Telephone "Handy", UPCI system
ON/OFF characteristics
The Universal Portable CTEL Interface (UPCI) system is activated by one of the following actions:
^ By pressing the On/Off button of the respective portable CTEL (A34/6).
^ Automatically by a wake-up pulse via the Media Oriented System Transport (MOST), which is sent by the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3)
^ Activation of "circuit 15R ON" status.
Before the Universal Portable CTEL Interface system can be started up, it must be logged into the respective telephone network. The Subscriber Identification Module (SIM) on the SIM card is needed to do this.
After inserting and activating the SIM card the user must enter the 4 to 8-digit Personal Identification Number (PIN) when requested to do so.
This PIN prevents unauthorized use of the SIM card and therefore protects against misuse.
The SIM card is locked after 3 incorrect entries. The Personal Unblocking Key (PUK), an 8-digit number code, can be used to deactivate the access prevention. This allows entry of a new PIN number.
If the PUK is entered wrongly 10 times in succession, the SIM card can no longer be used and a new SIM card must be applied for from the service provider. If the PIN is entered correctly, the corresponding portable CTEL (A34/6) logs into the respective service provider network and is ready for use.
Switch off characteristics
The UPCI system is deactivated by one of the following actions:
^ By pressing the On/Off button of the respective portable CTEL (A34/6)
^ Automatically following the individually adjustable run-on time of the respective portable CTEL (A34/6)
^ After removing the transmitter key (A8/1) and following expiry of the individually adjustable run-on time of the respective portable CTEL (A34/6)
Switching off system
The corresponding portable CTEL (A34/6) is decommissioned by operating the On/Off button on the respective portable CTEL (A34/6) and then removing the SIM card.
The SIM card may only be removed once the corresponding portable CTEL (A34/6) has been switched off in order to protect the chip on the SIM card from destruction. When the corresponding portable CTEL (A34/6) is switched on again, the PIN has to be reentered.
