The warning indicator is ready for operation when the frame lights up.
When an obstacle is approached and depending on the distance, one or more segments of the LCD bar display light up (see tables below).

Center instrument panel PTS warning indicator (A44/4)
When the first red segment lights up, an intermittent tone also sounds. At the second red segment the intermittent tone becomes a continuous signal.

Rear PTS warning indicator (A44/3)
An intermittent tone sounds when the first yellow segment lights up. The frequency increases each time another segment lights up. At the seventh segment, the intermittent tone becomes a continuous signal.

The warning tones of the center instrument panel PTS warning indicator (A44/4) and rear PTS warning indicator (A44/3) have a different frequency in order to guarantee a better differentiation.

The brightness of the warning indicators (background lighting) changes according to the ambient requirements, such as if the system detects darkness, dusk or if driving through a tunnel. The brightness is reduced to 30% of the maximum brightness.
