GF82.60-P-2002RA CD Player Operation Function
- with CODE (352) COMAND operating and display system
- except CODE (491) USA version
- except CODE (498) Japan version

CD changer mode
The CD player with changer (in trunk) (A2/6) is controlled by the COMAND operating, display and control module (A40/3) and supplied with power by the latter. It is connected to the COMAND operating, display and control module (A40/3) via the D2B bus and the electric wake-up line.

Only 12 cm CDs may be loaded into the CD player with changer (in the trunk) (A2/6). No 8 cm CD adapters may be used.

On vehicles with sound system (code 810) (as illustrated above) the sound amplifier (A2/13) is responsible for final amplification of the audio signals. The sound is transmitted digitally to the COMAND operating, display and control module (A40/3) via the D2B bus .

The amplified signals are output via the vehicle loudspeaker
system.

When the vehicle is equipped with the sound amplifier (A2/13) , the COMAND operating display and control module COMAND (A40/3) must be coded appropriately with the aid of the Star diagnosis to prevent malfunctions in the reproduction of audio signals.

In combination with the CD player with changer (in trunk) (A2/6) the COMAND module offers the following functions:
^ CD selection
Selection can be accomplished with the knob or buttons.
^ Repeat function
One title, one CD or the entire CD magazine can be repeated as desired.
^ Random function
All titles of a CD or the entire CD magazine are played according to the random principle.
^ Scan function
The titles on one CD or the first title of each CD in the entire magazine are played for 8 s. After running through completely, the scan function is automatically terminated.
^ Fast forward/reverse (music search)
The music can be heard during fast forward/reverse. So particular points of a title can be played back selectively or skipped
^ Title search
The next or previous title is found.
^ Title skip
This function can be activated with the rocker button or on the number pad.
^ CD title assignment function
Each CD is assigned a permanently stored so-called Table of Contents (TOC). On the basis of this record, COMAND clearly recognizes the relevant CD, and is able to automatically designate this following non-recurring title allocation by the user (even if the CD is subsequently inserted in another CD magazine). In addition the TOC entry contains information on the number of titles on a CD and the total playing time of the CD
^ CD mode with integrated CD drive
The COMAND operating, display and control module (A40/3) has an integrated CD drive which serves alternately for loading navigation data and playing audio CDs (Audio CDs cannot be played in the navigation mode).
