GF68.49-P-2100-03R Inside Rearview Mirror, Function
Automatically adjusting with memory:
The inside rearview mirror (A67) can be adjusted automatically with the memory function, i.e. stored mirror positions can be called up. Automatic adjustment is performed via the vertical adjustment motor (A67m1) and horizontal adjustment motor (A67m2).
They are actuated by the overhead control panel control module (N70). The vertical position potentiometer (A67r1) and horizontal position potentiometer (A67r2) are located next to the motors for position recognition.
Procedure:
The inside rearview mirror (A67) should be adjusted manually to the desired position.
This position is recognized by the potentiometer and is relayed as a CAN message to the associated control modules via the passenger compartment CAN bus. Storage is performed in the left front seat adjustment control module, with memory (N32/1). The positions can be called via the memory buttons as well as the key-dependent storage, unless it is activated in the instrument cluster (A1).
Electro-chromatic dimming:
The glass of the interior rearview mirror unit (A67) can be electrochromatically dimmed. Dimming is accomplished depending on the values obtained from the forward pointing mirror dimming sensor (A67h1) and rearward pointing mirror dimming sensor (A67h2) located in the mirror housing and mirror glass.
This information serves also as master for the electrically adjustable and heated exterior rearview mirror (M21/1) (driver).
