GF88.79-P-2002R Fold Left/right Outside Mirror, Function
- with CODE (500) Folding left/right outside mirrors
- up to model year 08

Component Identification:

Manual folding-in/out

Function prerequisites
^ No overvoltage or undervoltage
^ Circuit 15R or circuit 15 ON
^ Driving speed v < 100 km/h
^ no manual mirror glass adjustment activated

Function
The left electrically adjustable and headed outside mirror (M21/1) and right electrically adjustable and heated outside mirror (M21/2) can be folded in manually (garage position) and folded out (driving position) via the outside mirror fold-in/out switch (N72s19) The switching states of the outside mirror fold-in/out switch (N72s19) are evaluated by the bottom overhead control panel control module (N72) and relayed to the left door control module (N69/1) and right door control module (N69/2) ) via the CAN class B bus.
The left door control module (N69/1) controls the mirror fold-in motor (M21/1m3) for the driver side in the left electrically adjustable and heated outside mirror (M21/1).
The right door control module (N69/2) controls the mirror fold-in motor (M21/2m3) for the passenger side in the right electrically adjustable and heated outside mirror (M21/2).

The instrument cluster (A1) transmits a CAN message at a speed of > 100 km/h to the left door control module (N69/1) and right door control module (N69/2) whereby it is no longer possible to fold in the mirror.

Automatic fold-in/out

Function requirements
^ No overvoltage or undervoltage
^ Circuit 15c OFF (transmitter key removed)
^ Function in instrument cluster (A1) activated

Function
When the vehicle is locked from outside the left electrically adjustable and headed outside mirror (M21/1) and the right electrically adjustable heated outside mirror (M21/2) is automatically folded in (garage position).
When the driver/passenger door is opened again they are folded out to the previous position (driving position).

The automatic fold-in/out feature can always be interrupted by actuating the outside mirror switch or the outside mirror fold-in/out switch (N72s19).
