Dynamic lumbar support of multicontour backrest
To prevent back strain during longer journeys, the multicontour backrest is equipped with the function dynamic lumbar support.

The dynamic lumbar support function is controlled by the
^ control module for left front multicontour backrest (N32/15)
^ control module for right front multicontour backrest (N32/16), for the driver/front passenger seat.

The program is started and stopped by the
^ dynamic lumbar support adjustment switch (S109s1)
^ dynamic lumbar support adjustment switch (S108s1), which are located in the switch group for left front multicontour backrest (S109)/switch group for right front multicontour backrest (S108), for the driver/front passenger seat.

The active function is displayed by illuminating the LED in the switch.

Sequence:
After the switch has been pressed, first the air pressures of the air cushions in the lumbar area are stored by the control module for left front multicontour backrest (N32/15)/control module for right front multicontour backrest (N32/16). Then these air cushions are emptied and the actual program starts:
The lower and upper lumbar area are filled with air and emptied alternately in two stages. Every air pressure adjustment is held for approx. 5 s before the next state is assumed. After approx. 8 min the program ends automatically and the original air cushion pressures are reestablished.
