GF42.45-P-3500SL ASC control mode, function

ASR closed-loop operation, pressure buildup (shown on model 230)
The control process shown in the example and the valve positions refer to the rear right brake (RR).

If one of the drive wheels tends to spin when starting off or accelerating, the ESP, SPS [PML] and BAS control unit (N47-5) introduces the closed-loop operation ASR-pressure buildup.

The left front separation valve and right front separation valve (y1 and y2) and the rear axle balance valve (y4) are closed at the start of ASR control. The right rear outlet control valve (y13) remains closed and the right rear inlet control valve (y12) is opened.

The pressure from the pressure reservoir (3) can now be built up at the rear right brake caliper.

ASR-closed-loop operation, pressure holding
The control process shown in the example and the valve positions refer to the rear right brake (RR).

If extra braking force is no longer required to prevent traction slip, the pressure-hold phase of the ASR control mode begins.

The right rear inlet control valve (y12) is closed. As a result the pressure from the pressure reservoir cannot be increased in the brake caliper.

ASR control mode - pressure reduction
The control process shown in the example and the valve positions refer to the rear right brake (RR).

The pressure reduction ASR control mode begins if the braking pressure required to prevent drive slip is too high.

The pressure reduction phase is introduced by opening the right rear outlet control valve (y13). The right rear inlet control valve (y13) and rear axle balance valve (y4) remains closed.

The returning brake fluid flows via the return pipe to the brake fluid reservoir.
