GF54.50-P-2008RR Distance, Function
- up to model year 08

Distance display function:
1 Text: "SINCE START: XXXXX km (miles)" or "SINCE RESET: XXXXX km (miles)"
A1p13 Left multifunction display
A1p15 Right multifunction display

The trip computer allows the distance traveled to be displayed
^ "SINCE START" (short-distance memory) and
^ "SINCE RESET" (long-distance memory).

Depending on the unit setting (kilometers/miles) and the national variant coding of the instrument cluster (A1) the distance is displayed in:
^ km (ECE, Japan) or
^ miles (USA).

Distance "SINCE START" (short-distance memory), function
^ Activate the "SINCE START" display (short-distance memory) using the system selection button (S110s3) and the scroll forward/back button (S110s1) on the multifunction steering wheel.

The display shows the data calculated since the last reset (RESET) of the short-distance memory.

^ The distance traveled "SINCE START" appears on the left multifunction display (A1p13).
^ Additional information also appears on the right multifunction display (A1p15):
- the average travel speed
- the elapsed time since starting
- the average fuel consumption

Distance "SINCE RESET" (long-distance memory), function (text box (1) displays "SINCE RESET")
^ Activate the "SINCE RESET" display (long-distance memory) using the system selection button (S110s3) and the scroll forward/back button (S110s1) on the multifunction steering wheel.
The display is based on the data registered and calculated since the last reset of the long-distance memory.
^ The travel distance "SINCE RESET" appears on the left multifunction display (A1p13).
^ Additional information also appears on the right multifunction display (A1p15):
- the average travel speed
- the elapsed time since the reset
- the average fuel consumption

The distance is displayed in kilometers or in miles in the range from 0 to 65,535 km or 0 to 40,959 miles with a resolution of one kilometer or one mile.
After a reset the first value change occurs after one kilometer or one mile.

The distance is calculated by processing the signals from the four wheel speed sensors. The instrument cluster (A1) receives this data as a CAN message from the SBC control unit (A7/3n1) and the ESP, SPS [PML] and BAS control unit (N47-5).

When the travel time or distance information exceeds the maximum available display (65,535 km (40,959 miles) or 99:59 hours), the system automatically resets the travel time and distance. This preserves the relationship between travel time and distance.
