Display mask following reset:
1 Text: "SINCE RESET: 00000 km (miles)" or "SINCE START: 00000 km (miles)"
A1p13 Left multifunction display
A1p15 Right multifunction display
The reset knob (A1r1) in the instrument cluster (A1) can be used to reset the contents of the long and short-distance memories: The display reflects the distance unit setting (miles/kilometers) as well as the national version code programmed into the instrument cluster (A1) as shown in the illustrations.
Resetting the long-distance memory ("SINCE RESET")
^ Circuit 15 ON
^ Select the "SINCE RESET" display using the system selection button (S110s3) and scroll forward/back button (S110s1) on the multifunction steering wheel.
^ Hold down the reset button for one second
^ The display is reset (see illustrations, "SINCE RESET" appears in the text box (1)).
The display for "SINCE START" (short-distance memory) is reset in the same way.
Manually resetting the short-distance memory ("SINCE START")
^ Circuit 15 ON
^ Select the "SINCE START" (short-distance memory) display using the system selection button (S110s3) and scroll forward/back button (S110s1) on the multifunction steering wheel.
^ Hold down the reset button for one second
^ The display is reset
Automatically resetting the short-distance memory ("SINCE START")
As the "SINCE START" display (short-distance memory) is intended for driving cycle data, the contents of the "SINCE START" display (short-distance memory) are usually reset automatically whenever the instrument cluster remains inactive for a period of four hours.
After resetting there is not sufficient data material for correct calculation of the consumption.
As a temporary solution in this period immediately following resets, a calculated figure based on the actual, individual fuel consumption rate of the vehicle (depending on engine) is shown; this display varies according to the distance unit setting (miles/kilometers) and the country code entered in the instrument cluster (A1). This figure is limited.
The display limit lies at 40 l/100 km. Displays using miles per gallon or kilometers per litre revert to zero.
