Function
Pull rotary light switch (S1) out to "standing lamp" or "low beam" position to first detent.
The driver-side SAM control unit (N10/10) records the "front fog lamp On" signal and actuates the left front fog lamp (E5/1).

Parallel to this it also sends the "front fog lamp On" signal over CAN-B (CAN-B) to the passenger-side SAM control unit (N10/11). The passenger-side SAM control unit (N10/11) actuates the right front fog lamp (E5/2).

Feedback
The front fog lamps indicator lamp (S1e1) in the rotary light switch (S1) visually signals that the left front fog lamp (E5/1) and the right front fog lamp (E5/2) are switched on.
