Draining and filling fuel tank

Lowering

DANGER:
- Risk of explosion from fuel igniting, risk of poisoning from inhaling and swallowing fuel as well as risk of injury to eyes and skin from contact with fuel.
- Fire, sparks, open flames or smoking forbidden.
- Pour fuels only into suitable and appropriately marked containers.
- Wear protective clothing when handling fuel.


1 Withdraw ignition key
2 Pinch off fuel hose (1) of fuel pump with Matra clamp
- See "Special Tools - Clamp" given below.

3 Disconnect fuel hose (1) to fuel pump
4 Fit drain hose (012) onto fuel hose (1)
- See "Special Tools - Drain hose" given below.

NOTE: In order to avoid static charging, the vehicle with the safety tank must be connected to a ground cable.

5 Insert drain hose (012) into safety tank
- Pay attention to fuel quantity

Fuel tank capacity
Total capacity: 80 Total Liters
Reserve capacity: 10 Total Liters

6 Take off cap at filler neck
7 Remove Matra damp at fuel hose (1) and allow fuel to drain off
