Function
Both the longitudinal adjustment forward/back motor (M20m1) and the height adjustment up/down motor (M20m2) are equipped with one Hall sensor to measure the position of the steering column.

The signals from these Hall signals are read in by the driver-side SAM control module (N10/10), checked for plausibility and used in the position counter to measure the position of the steering column.

The received Hall pulses are evaluated as positive or negative according to the actuation voltage of the motor.
