Component Identification:

Pushing off
1 Unscrew self-locking nut from tie rod joint.
2 Mount thrust piece 129 589 10 63 00 and puller 203 589 00 33 00.
3 Pry off tie rod ball joint.

Do not damage rubber boot otherwise lubricant escapes from the tie rod ball joint. This results in increased wear.

4 203 589 00 33 00 Remove puller and thrust piece 129 589 10 63 00.

Install
5 Check bushing for supporting the tie rod ball joint in the wheel carrier (2).

If the conical joint is damaged or it is seated loosely in the wheel carrier (2), replace wheel carrier (2).

If when prying off the tie rod ball joint out of the wheel carrier (2) the bushing is pressed out at the same time and this is not damaged, insert the bushing with refrigerant spray and suitable tool in the wheel carrier (2).
The bushing must abut the wheel carrier (2) over its entire circumference.

6 Clean tapered connection.

There must not be any grease or oil on the taper and thread otherwise the tie rod ball joint may loosen.

7 Replace self-locking nut and tighten.

Counter ball head with an Allen wrench if necessary.
