GF07.61-P-3012M ME-SFI Fuel Pump Actuation, Function
GF07.61-P-3012M ME-SFI Fuel Pump Actuation, Function
Component Identification:
The task of fuel pump actuation is:
^ Actuation of the fuel pump with ignition ON for about 1 s (audible) to ensure it is completely filled. The engine must be started before the fuel pump is actuated again.
^ To start the engine, actuate the fuel pump via the first signals from the crankshaft position sensor.
^ With the engine running, actuate the fuel pump via the engine speed signal and depending on the fuel pressure with a PWM signal
^ In case of detected front crash, interrupt the actuation of the fuel pump.
Model 215, 220, 230, 240
The fuel pump relay is actuated through a ground signal from the ME control unit. If the relay contact is closed, the fused voltage is supplied to the fuel pump control unit
Model 216, 221
The signal from the fuel pressure sensor with the current fuel pressure is read in at the fuel pump control unit and sent to the ME SFI control unit via the drive train CAN. In the ME-SFI control unit, the fuel pressure is first checked for plausibility and then sent back to the fuel pump control unit as a fuel pump target preset.
If the fuel pump does not operate, check the following:
- Voltage supply of ME control unit
- Fuse upstream fuel pump relay (model 215, 220, 230, 240)
- Voltage supply of fuel pump control unit.
