Multi-contour Seat Lumbar Support Setting from Lowest to Middle Range Inoperative

If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles that the user cannot adjust the lumbar support from lowest to middle range on Multi-contour Seats this may be due to the controller mounting having excessive tolerances for the openings of the control valves. As a result, lumbar support ranges between 0 and 5 cannot be set and may only be set after selecting the highest level (level 10) first. To remedy, please follow the procedure below:

1. Remove the two control valves for the upper and lower lumbar support.

2. Wrap the control valves with fabric adhesive tape per dimensions (Figure 1) and location as shown (Figures 2 and 3) above.

Note:
When attaching the fabric adhesive tape, please make sure you do NOT cover the recesses at the sides of the control valves. The fabric adhesive tape must be affixed as far towards the front end as possible, without covering the catch tab for locating the control valve.

3. Install the control valves and secure in place

4. Delete any DTCs and perform a function test.
