Model 204.054/056/081, Up to 06/2008 Series Production

Brake Squeal and/or Excessive Brake Dust From Rear Axle

If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles of brake squeal and or excessive brake dust from the rear axle, perform the following.

1. Remove existing rear brake pads. Refer to WIS document AR42.10-P-0250CW.

2. There must be no grease, dirt or adhesive residue on the fingers of the brake caliper. The brake calipers must be thoroughly cleaned.





3. Remove the protective foil from each outer brake pad (Figure 1).

4. Install revised rear brake pads. During installation do not damage the brake pad's adhesive backing. Refer to WIS document AR42.10-P-0250CW.

Note:
No grease / paste must be used on the brake pads or calipers.

5. Once the pads are installed, depress the brake pedal in order to compress the adhesive foil.
