Engine/Transmission Noises Transmitted into Vehicle Interior and/or Vibrations into Gearshift Lever
If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicle of engine/transmission noises transmitted into the vehicle interior and/or transmission of vibrations into gearshift lever, the cause may be stresses on the vehicle exhaust system. To resolve, perform the following.
1. Place vehicle on a drive-on lift.
2. Relieve the stress on exhaust system, loosen the nuts of the hanger brackets, left and right sides (Figure 1 and 2) and retorque to 20 Nm.
3. Relieve stress on the drive-train, loosen the three bolts of rear engine mount (Figure 3) on the cross-bridge and retorque to 50 Nm.
4. Loosen the two self-locking bolts of the center shifter console (Figure 4) from within the interior compartment. Replace bolts and retorque new bolts to 6 Nm.
