Interior - Rear Door Lock Button Cracked/Missing

Lock Button on Rear Door Cracked or Missing





If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles of the lock button being either cracked (Figure 1, circles) or missing from the rear doors, this may be due to an unfavorable stress tolerance between the end of the Bowden cable and the lock button. To resolve, replace the cracked button as per the below procedure.

1. Remove cracked lock button

2. Place new lock button (see part number below) on end piece of the Bowden cable.

3. Press down on lock button slowly until it audibly engages on end piece of the Bowden cable.

4. Operate lock button 5 times to ensure lock button is correctly engaged.

Note:
Do not replace entire Bowden cable, only replace the lock button. Lock button has been optimized to withstand greater stress.
