Whistling / Flute Noise From Front or Rear Axle Area
If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles of a whistling / flute-like noise emanating from the front or rear axle area with the engine idling, replace the Active Body Controls front valve block.
NOTE:
The whistling / flute noise is caused by the internal pressure limiting valve in the front axle ABC valve block. Replacing the rear axle valve block does not remedy the problem, even if the noise is also audible at the rear axle valve unit. This noise is merely transferred to the rear via the hydraulic lines.
