Uncomfortable Downshifting While Coasting
If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles of uncomfortable downshifting or a noticeable jolt during a 3 -> 2 gear shift while coasting, this may be caused by the engine control module increasing the engine idle speed, which in turn modifies the adaptive behavior of the shift. To resolve, perform engine control module reprogramming using DAS version 05/2008 or higher. If no new software is found in Star Diagnosis, SCN coding should still be performed. After SCN coding is completed, perform quick test and erase any fault codes which may have been generated by the flashing process.
Note:
The adaptation data of the 3 -> 2 shift (B1) may be in the extreme negative range (up to -20 cycles filling time). In rare cases, the 4 -> 3 shift (K3) may also be affected. If this is the case, reset the adaptation values for these shift elements and readapt.
