General function requirements
^ Circuit 15 On

The circuit status is transmitted by the EZS control unit (N73) to the steering column tube module (N80) via interior CAN.

Fanfare horns, general
The left fanfare horn (H2) and the right fanfare horn (H2/1) represent the audible warning system of the vehicle.
They are used to warn other road users by issuing a uniform and constant signal tone.

Fanfare horns function sequence
Fanfare horn button (S110s5) or fanfare horn button (S111s5) is actuated by pressing the impact absorber on the steering wheel. The status of the fanfare horn buttons is read in by the steering column tube module. The steering column tube module forwards the request to the passenger-side SAM control unit (N10/11) via interior CAN. The front passenger-side SAM control unit actuates the fanfare horn relay (K40/4kP) on the passenger-side fuse and relay module (K40/4), which connects circuit 30 through to the fanfare horns.

The signal tone sounds for as long as at least one of the fanfare horn buttons is actuated.
