Replace Rear Axle Differential

This Service Campaign has been initiated because Daimler AG has determined that the rear differential may have been filled with the incorrect gear oil. This may result in rear differential noise and increased wear. The dealer will replace the rear differential at the next workshop visit.

Prior to performing this Service Campaign:

^ Please check VMI to determine if the vehicle is involved in the Campaign and if it has been previously repaired.

^ Please review the entire Service Campaign bulletin and follow the repair procedure exactly as described.

Please note that Recall and Service Campaigns do not expire and may also be performed on a vehicle with a vehicle status indicator.

Approximately 17 vehicles are affected.

Procedure

1. Replace rear differential; refer to WIS for model:

^ 219 377 AR 35.31-P-0520TX

^ 230 470 AR 35.31-P-0520R
