GF40.15-P-0001-08RIA Tire Pressure Monitor (TPM (RDK)) Messages

GF40.15-P-0001-08RIA Tire pressure monitor (TPM [RDK]) messages
- with CODE (475) Tire pressure monitor (premium)
- Fa. Siemens
- as of model year 09

The messages from the tire pressure monitor (TPM) system are shown in the left multifunction display (A1p13) and in the right multifunction display (A1p15) of the instrument cluster (A1).

A distinction is made between the following:
- Menu displays and
- warning messages

The menu displays can be called up in the instrument cluster using the TPM [RDK] menu.

The warning messages appear automatically.

Depending on the warning message the tire pressure monitor warning lamp (A1e66) is also actuated.

Menu display 1

The TPM [RDK] system is not available until circuit 15 ON.

Menu display 2

Normal condition, display of pressure picture:
- No fault
- Vehicle wheels detected and assigned to positions
- Current pressure signals are available

Manual restart is possible.

Menu display 3

Submenu for manual restart.

Menu display 4

The TPM [RDK] system is nonfunctional.
Possible causes are:
- The instrument cluster does not receive any valid signals from the TPM [RDK] control unit (N88)
- TPM [RDK] control unit inoperative:
- Deactivation because of malfunction

Menu display 5

Waiting for pressure signals

Following ignition start, current pressure values still not available from the TPM wheel sensors (A69/1, A69/2, A69/3, A69/4):
- New wheels have been detected, no position identification is known

Manual restart is possible.

Menu display 6

All wheel sensors are missing. Possible causes are:
- TPM [RDK] control unit not receiving any signals from wheel sensors
- Wheels fitted without wheel sensors

Warning message 1

The TPM [RDK] system is nonfunctional.

Possible causes are:
- The instrument cluster does not receive any valid signals from the TPM [RDK] control unit
- TPM [RDK] control unit inoperative:
- Deactivation because of malfunction

The tire pressure monitor warning lamp flashes on and off for t = 60 s and then stays on permanently.

Warning message 2

In the preceding ignition sequence the tire pressure monitoring system has detected a slight pressure loss of p = 0.25 bar. The tire air pressure correction due is referred to after terminal 15 Off.

The warning is displayed without the position being specified.

Warning message 3

The TPM [RDK] system has detected a tire pressure loss (p < specified pressure -20%).
Wheel position not assigned.

Warning message 4

Rapid pressure loss (p > 0.2 bar/min) detected at one or more tires.
Wheel position assigned.
The tire pressure monitor warning lamp flashes on and off for t = 60 s and then stays on permanently.

Warning message 5

The tire pressure monitoring system has detected filling of the tire, but the new tire air pressure values are implausible. The previous warning thresholds are retained.

The message is displayed until a pressure correction or manual restart takes place.

Warning message 6

The TPM [RDK] control unit does not receive any signals from the wheel sensors.

Possible cause:
- Wheels fitted without any wheel sensors

The tire pressure monitor warning lamp flashes on and off for t = 60 s and then stays on permanently.

Warning message 7

The TPM [RDK] system is temporarily inactive because of transmission interference or because the voltage is too high/low.

The tire pressure monitor warning lamp flashes on and off for t = 60 s and then stays on permanently.

Warning message 8

The TPM [RDK] system does not detect all wheel sensors.

Possible causes:
- Spare tire fitted without wheel sensor
- Wheel sensor defective
- Wheel sensor battery empty
- Excess temperature

The tire pressure monitor warning lamp flashes on and off for t = 60 s and then stays on permanently.

Warning message 9

Operation feedback after manual restart.
