Location
The rear PTS warning indicator, is located centrally above the stowage compartment of the rear panel.

The center instrument panel PTS warning indicator is located in the center of the instrument panel.

Task
The PTS warning indicators are actuated by the PTS control unit (N62).
- Obstacle detection. The driver is first alerted to the distances to the obstacle by the lighting up of the yellow display elements, then by the lighting up of the red display elements and in addition by the emission of an acoustic warning via the sound transmitter integrated in the warning displays.
- Stand-by
Stand-by status means that the Parktronic system (PTS) is active without an obstacle being detected. For this purpose the two yellow horizontal "Stand-by" bars in the warning indicators light up with reduced brightness.
- Self-test. After a successful self-test all the display elements of the warning indicators are actuated fully for t = 1 s.
- System malfunction
If a malfunction occurs during operation, this is displayed by the lighting up of the red display elements of the respective warning indicator. A warning sound is not emitted.
- System fault
If a system fault or a fault on a function test while driving is detected, the red display elements of the respective warning indicator are actuated. A warning tone is also emitted for t = 2 s.

Design
10 yellow and 4 red display elements as well as one sound transmitter each are accommodated in the PTS warning indicators.
