GF82.30-P-3008RC Wiper Start Suppression Function

General function requirements
^ C. 15R On

Wiper start suppression, general
The wiper start suppression function prevents the wiper motor (M6/1) from being actuated even when a wiper request is present.

The wiper start suppression function comprises the following subfunctions:
^ Function sequence for wiper start suppression activation
^ Function sequence for wiper start suppression deactivation

Additional function requirements for wiper start suppression activation
^ Vehicle speed less than v = 5 km/h and
^ Driver/front passenger door open and
^ Combination switch (S4) in position "1"

Function sequence for wiper start suppression activation
Opening the left door is detected by the left door contact switch (S17/3), opening the right door is detected via the right door contact switch (S17/4) and read in by the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2)

This information is sent over the interior CAN to the driver SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1). The driver SAM control unit evaluates these signals and interrupts actuation of the wiper motor. The wiper remains in the park position.

The driver SAM control unit receives the signal for the vehicle speed from the instrument cluster (A1).
The position of the combination switch is detected by the steering column tube module (N80) and read in over the interior CAN by the driver SAM control unit.

A previously initiated wipe operation is not canceled when a door is opened. The wipers move to the park position.

Additional function requirements for wiper start suppression deactivation
^ Wiper start suppression activated

Function sequence for wiper start suppression deactivation
Actuation of the wiper motor takes place once the wiper startup suppression has been deactivated by one of the following events:
- Vehicle speed v > 8 km/h
- Combination switch in position "2" or "3"
- Both doors closed and
- Selector lever in a gear range (with transmission 722) or
- Clutch operated (with transmission 716)
