GF82.62-P-3124TXU Antenna Component Description
- with CODE (359) TELE AID emergency call system
- with CODE (494) USA version
- backup antennas
Component Identification:
Location
The emergency call system left backup antenna (A2/54) and the emergency call system right backup antenna (A2/55) are integrated each at the sides above the associated vents of the body at rear bumper height in accordance with their designations.
Task
To transmit and receive the Telematic Alarm Identification on Demand (emergency call system) (TELE AID) emergency call signals, when the power of the telephone antenna (A2/49a1) is insufficient.
Design
The left and right backup antennas are designed as follows:
^ Antenna tuned to upper MHz range
^ Attached coaxial cable
Function
In the simplest case, the special design of an antenna consists of a rod of half a wavelength made from wire or metal . The operating principle of an electromagnetic oscillating circuit is used, e.g. as a transmit antenna for radiating a considerable amount of power in the form of alternating electrical and magnetic fields (waves) and causing the electrons in the receive antenna to vibrate, thus wirelessly transmitting power. In the case of a power reduction or destruction of the telephone antenna, the system falls back on the left and right backup antennas. The emergency call system control unit (N123/4) makes the selection and decides which antenna to use for the emergency call, if any. The signals received by the left and right backup antennas are relayed discretely to the emergency call system antenna splitter (A2/25) via a coaxial cable. The emergency call system antenna splitter bundles the signals and relays them to the emergency call system control unit and vice-versa.
