GF80.50-P-2002TX Activate Anti-Theft Alarm System, Function

GF80.50-P-2002TX Activate Anti-Theft Alarm System, Function
- with CODE (551) Anti-theft alarm system (ATA [EDW])

Activate anti-theft alarm (ATA)
^ Lock the central locking (CL) with the transmitter key (A8/1).
^ Lock CL with relocking function
^ Lock vehicle via keyless go (KG) (with CODE (889) Keyless Go).
^ Self-activation (only (B)).

When the transmitter key is removed and the driver door opened and closed again, the ATA is automatically activated 120 s after the last door or the trunk lid is closed, regardless of the status of the central locking of the vehicle.

Partial activation of ATA
The tow-away protection and interior protection (with code (882) Interior monitoring (with ATA only) functions can be switched off for the next activation of the ATA.

Switch off towing sensor
Actuate tow-away protection switch (N70s9) to switch off tow-away protection. The acknowledgment signal (continuous light of tow- away protection switch) starts to flash 0.5 s after releasing the tow-away protection switch.

On vehicles with code (494) USA version or code (498) Japanese version, the tow-away protection and interior protection functions are valid up to 30.6.06.

Switch off interior protection
Actuate interior protection switch (N70s8) to switch off the interior protection. The acknowledgment signal (2 s turn signal) starts to flash 0.5 s after releasing the interior protection switch.

The interior protection switch will be discontinued as of 1.7.06 on vehicles with code (494) USA version or code (498) Japanese version.

Alarm inputs
The ATA evaluates the following alarm inputs:
^ Alarm signal horn with additional battery (H3/1)
^ Left front door contact switch (S17/3)
^ Right front door contact switch (S17/4)
^ Left rear door contact switch (S17/5)
^ right rear door contact switch (S17/6)
^ ATA inclination sensor (B33), on vehicles with code (494) USA version up to 30.6.06
^ Interior protection sensor (E15/3b2), with code (882) Interior monitoring (with ATA only)
^ Engine hood ATA switch (S62)
^ Lock pawl rotary tumbler switch (S88/4)

The state of the alarm inputs is checked cyclically If all checks within 10 s indicate the non-actuated state, the corresponding input is armed. Alarm inputs switched to non-actuated state later, are also armed after 10 s.

Towing sensor
The towing sensor is activated 10 s after activating the ATA. If one or more doors or the trunk lid is open, the ATA inclination sensor (B33) is activated after t 10 s after the last door or the trunk lid is closed.

The ATA inclination sensor will be discontinued as of 1.7.06 on vehicles with code (494) USA version or code (498) Japanese version

Interior protection sensor
The interior motion sensor is activated 10 s after the last door or the trunk lid is closed.

Alarm signal horn with additional battery
The alarm signal horn is activated or ready for alarm immediately after the vehicle is locked. When the alarm signal horn is armed, it must be cyclically actuated by the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) If this signal is not present for longer than 0.9 s, an alarm is actuated

Rearming remote trunk opening
If the trunk lid is closed again after opening the remote trunk opening, the ATA is set to the same status as before opening The ATA inclination sensor and interior protection sensor are reactivated.

The ATA inclination sensor and interior protection sensor will be discontinued as of 1.7.06 on vehicles with code (494) USA version or code (498) Japanese version

Special case rain closing feature with code (414) Power glass tilting/sliding roof
When the rain/light sensor (B38/2) moves the tilting/sliding roof to the tilt position with the vehicle parked, the interior protection sensor is suppressed. After rain closing, the ATA is reset to the same status as before closing

The interior protection sensor will be discontinued as of 1.7.06 on vehicles with code (494) USA version or code (498) Japanese version

Special case: Driver door
If the driver door is not closed when the ATA is activated, the rear SAM control unit recognizes this state and stores the information "Driver door open" on the Control Area Network bus, class B (interior compartment) (CAN-B).

When the driver door is closed, it remains unlocked so that a transmitter key cannot be unintentionally locked in the vehicle. The ATA is activated and the information "Driver door open" is stored.

Special case: Convenience opening/closing function
The windows and the tilting/sliding roof with code (414) Power glass tilting/sliding roof can be opened and closed with the transmitter key via the convenience opening/closing function.

On this convenience function the ATA can be in the activation phase or is already in the armed state The alarm is deactivated for the duration of the convenience function so that the motions of the windows and tilting/sliding roof do not trigger an alarm. After the convenience opening/closing function the ATA is reset to the same status as before the function

Feedback after successful activation

Visual
The function LED in the interior central locking and ATA function display switch (N72/1s6) comes on momentarily once each second.

Feedback after successful activation

Acoustic (only Netherlands)
The alarm signal horn with additional battery outputs an acoustic feedback by momentarily buzzing 3 times.
If one door is not properly closed during ATA [EDW] activation, no feedback will be given.
