Cabin Temperature Sensor / Switch: Description and Operation

GF83.57-P-2127TY In-car Temperature Sensor Component Description

Component Identification:

Location
The in-car temperature sensor is integrated into the overhead control panel control unit (N70), which is located in the headliner in the area of the inside rearview mirror.

Task
The in-car temperature sensor is used to detect the temperature in the upper area of the passenger compartment.

Function
The in-car temperature sensor is equipped with an aspirator blower which draws in air required for measuring the temperature of the passenger compartment. The aspirator blower constantly circulates the air in the passenger compartment to the in-car temperature sensor and thus ensures accuracy.

The overhead control panel control unit (N70) sends the temperature reading to the Controller Area Network bus Class B (interior) (CAN-B).
