The emergency lamp actuation is intended to prevent the complete failure of the exterior lights caused by a fault in the
^ driver-side SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1),
^ Passenger-side SAM control unit (N10/11) or
^ Rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2)
Emergency lamp actuation
In the event of a failure of the Controller Area Network bus class B (interior) (CAN-B) or the driver-side SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) with circuit 15 On, the following lamps are activated:
^ Right standing and parking lamp (E2e3)
^ Right low beam (E2e2)
^ Outer left taillamp, parking lamp, rear fog lamp (E3e2)
^ Inner left taillamp, rear fog lamp (E3e5)
^ Outer right taillamp, parking lamp, rear fog lamp (E4e2)
^ Inner right taillamp, rear fog lamp (E4e5)
^ Left license plate lamp (E19/1)
^ Right license plate lamp (E19/2)
In the event of a failure of a processor in one of the SAM control units, with circuit 15 active, the following lamps are activated within < 3 s:
If the driver-side or passenger-side SAM control unit fails:
^ Left low beam (E1e2)
^ Left standing and parking lamp (E1e3)
^ Right low beam (E2e2)
^ Right standing and parking lamp E2e3)
If the rear SAM control unit fails:
^ Outer left taillamp, parking lamp, rear fog lamp (E3e2)
^ Inner left taillamp, rear fog lamp (E3e5)
^ Outer right taillamp, parking lamp, rear fog lamp (E4e2)
^ Inner right taillamp, rear fog lamp (E4e5)
^ Left license plate lamp (E19/1)
^ Right license plate lamp (E19/2)
