Hydraulic brake mode, general
The driver's brake command is monitored by the pedal angle sensor and transmitted by the regenerative braking system control unit.
The regenerative braking system control unit communicates permanently over the chassis CAN (CAN E) with the ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10).
The ME-SFI [ME] control unit requests the current status of the available regenerative braking torque from the power electronics control unit over the drive train sensor CAN (CAN I).
If it is not possible to realize regenerative sensing of the brake torque, then the braking torque is only generated hydraulically by the wheel brakes.
Hydraulic brake mode function sequence
To generate hydraulic pressure in the wheel brakes, the regenerative braking system control unit actuates the BAS solenoid valve, whereby the BAS brake booster generates hydraulic brake pressure. In this instance the free travel (3) is not reduced.
If the high-voltage battery (A100g1) is fully charged, regenerative braking is not possible. In this case braking is performed solely by the hydraulic brake, until the high-voltage battery is partly discharged again and it can accept electrical energy again.
In the event of an antilock brake system intervention (ABS control) regenerative braking for this brake application is terminated and the braking torque is realized solely by the hydraulic wheel brakes. The distribution of the brake pressures to front and rear axles is realized by a brake pressure distribution in the hydraulic unit traction system.
The integrated starter alternator is not actuated.
