Campaign - Calibrate Front Multicontour Seat Modules

SUBJECT: Model 221, Model Year 2010

Software Calibration Number (SCN) Code - Left and Right Dynamic Multicontour Seat Control Modules

This Service Campaign has been initiated because Daimler AG (DAG), the manufacturer of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, has determined that the massage function of the front seats may not have been coded to specification in the seat control modules. A Software Calibration Number (SCN) update to the Left and Right Dynamic Multicontour Seat Control Modules must be installed in the affected vehicles to correct this condition. Dealers will re-code the Software Calibration Number (SCN) - Dynamic Multicontour Seat Control Modules at the next workshop visit.

Prior to performing this Service Campaign:

^ Please check VMI to determine if the vehicle is involved in the Campaign and if it has been previously repaired.

^ Please review the entire Service Campaign bulletin and follow the repair procedure exactly as described.

Please note that Recall and Service Campaigns do not expire and may also be performed on a vehicle with a vehicle status indicator.

Approximately 63 vehicles are affected.

Procedure

Note:
^ Use DAS/Xentry 11/09 with all associated patches or higher.
^ Follow the steps exactly as described in DAS/Xentry.
^ Connect battery charger (battery voltage >12.5V).

1. Connect Star Diagnosis.

2. Perform SCN coding in left dynamic seat (DS) control module:

Control units/Seats and doors/DS - LF left front dynamic seat (Interior CAN bus)/Control unit adaptations/ SCN coding. Follow on-screen instructions.

3. Perform SCN coding in right dynamic seat (DS) control module:

Control units/Seats and doors/DS - RF right front dynamic seat (Interior CAN bus)/Control unit adaptations/SCN coding. Follow on-screen instructions.
